Calculus

               The book we will be using is Calculus and Analytical Geometry by Larson, Hostetler and Edwards.  This will be the same book that is used for Calculus II also.  First semester will cover differentiation, integration, and their applications to our world around us.

The chapters that will be covered in first semester are:

  • 1. Limits and Their Properties
  • 2. Differentiation
  • 3. Applications of Differentiation
  • 4. Integration
  • 5. Logarithmic, Exponential, and Other Transcendental Functions
  • 6. Differential Equations
  • 7. Applications of Integration
  • 8. Integration Techniques, L'Hôpital's Rule, and Improper Integrals

The calculus class meets M,W,F from 10:30-11:20.  As of now we are scheduled for A210.
